Thank You for Making Giving Tuesday a Success!

Because of your generosity, children across Sterling will head into every weekend with food they can count on.

Your compassion continues to change what’s possible for local families—and your impact doesn’t end here.

How Your Giving Tuesday Impact Matters

Thanks to neighbors like you, we exceeded our Giving Tuesday goal and expanded support for weekend meals across six Sterling schools.

This year's Giving Tuesday impact:

  • 54 more students sponsored with reliable weekend meals

  • 300+ food bags delivered each week across Sterling

  • Dozens of new supporters joined the HRTS community

  • Hundreds of families reached through our school partnerships

Your generosity is already at work in classrooms and homes throughout our community.

A Story Your Support Makes Possible

A school staff member shared recently:

“For some students, their weekend meal bag is the highlight of their week. Having food over the weekend can be everything for a child.”

Every bag you help provide says you matter and you’re not alone.

Thank you for meeting hunger with heart.

Hunger Doesn't Take a Holiday

Your Year-End Gift Makes Sure Students in Sterling Don't Go Cold or Hungry

As we move through December, families in Sterling continue to face rising costs and uncertain access to food and warm clothing at home.

Weekend meals and our Winter Coat donations help close that gap and bring stability to children who need it most.

Your year-end gift helps us:

  • Keep weekend food bags fully stocked

  • Support schools seeing increased need

  • Respond when families face unexpected hardship

  • Purchase additional coats when schools request them

  • Plan confidently for the months ahead

Real Stories. Real Impact.
Grandmother holding her young granddaughter at home, smiling together. She often relies on Backpack Buddies weekend food bags to help feed her granddaughter

"A student in one of our Sterling schools lost her father not long ago. Her grandmother is now her primary caregiver and works weekends to make ends meet. She shared that knowing her granddaughter receives a bag of easy-to-prepare meals and snacks each week helps relieve some of the stress she feels. She tells her granddaughter to eat from the bag while she’s at work and is deeply grateful to know she has food to eat each weekend."

“As someone who’s delivered the bags to classrooms, watching kids light up when they take their bags home is so special. Knowing they may not have much more than what’s given each week makes this work incredibly meaningful.”

“The food HRTS sends is accessible and easy to prepare, so students can feel secure even when their parents are working. Having food over the weekend gives them peace of mind knowing they’ll have meals they can count on.”
